Hillary Clarkson

Hilary Clarkson has 20 years police service experience having joined Great Manchester Police Research & Development Department in 1993. In 1998 she moved to Kent Police and ran the Business Information Unit moving to National Crime Squad (now National Crime Agency) as Head of Inspection in 2002. She has undertaken a variety of governance roles in that organisation & is now Resources and Logistics Manager for Operation Stovewood, NCA’s investigation into non familial child sexual exploitation and abuse in Rotherham 1997 – 2013. In her current role she is responsible for recruitment, office accommodation, IT provision
and the overall strategic coordination / management of the investigation.

Hilary’s interest in diversity and gender issues in particular flourished post the Lawrence Review when she was involved in the team responsible for implementing the police recommendations. Since then her passion for ensuring there is a fair and equal workplace for all has resonated throughout her work.

Hilary is now an Executive member of the British Association of Women in Policing and involved in the NCA’s Gender Equality Group. Outside of work she enjoys running half marathons, grows her own fruit and vegetables & throws herself into village life where she lives on the Kent / Sussex Border.
